These have been divided into eight groupsof four teams. Of the initial 32 teams only 16 will progress from the group stage. Koreaand Japan did well and became two of the 16 teams successfully. However, they hadgreater challenges ahead.The World Cup tournament started on June 11, 2010, the day after the openingceremony. It will last for one month, and finish on July 11.
